About the role:
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a high-tech engineering company specialising in the development of precision opto-mechanical products, who are seeking a Development Engineer to join their innovative R&D team. The company develops advanced products for multiple industries, offering solutions that range from precision opto-mechanical assemblies to industrial and scientific applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and development of next-generation products, working from concept through to production in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design opto-mechanical products
• Conduct optical, mechanical, and environmental testing
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation
• Design and build jigs, fixtures, & manufacturing setups
• Undertake engineering changes and support product transfer to production
• Work with suppliers to source components and ensure manufacturing feasibility

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Physics, Photonics or Mechanical Engineering
• Proficient in 3D CAD design software
• Basic understanding of optical principles
• Have a hands on and practical skillset – building and testing prototypes
• Experience in precision design and assembly
• Understanding of material properties, tolerances, and stress analysis
