Electronics Engineer – Leicestershire – £45k - £60k D.O.E 


A well-established and reputable product development business is looking for an Electronics Engineer to join its growing R&D team. The company designs and manufactures innovative hardware solutions across a variety of industries and offers a stable environment with exciting, hands-on engineering challenges.

This role would suit someone with a background in embedded electronics, PCB design, and low-level hardware-software integration, who enjoys working across the full product lifecycle—from concept to production.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design electronics hardware for embedded systems and industrial products.

  • Produce schematic designs and oversee PCB layout, component selection, and design for manufacture (DFM).

  • Support embedded software engineers with hardware bring-up and integration.

  • Conduct system-level testing and debugging of prototypes and final assemblies.

  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and production teams to deliver robust, commercial-grade products.

  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory compliance and safety standards.

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the design and development process.


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in electronics circuit design and hardware development.

  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (e.g. Altium, KiCAD, or similar).

  • Knowledge of microcontroller-based systems and low-power design.

  • Comfortable working with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).

  • Experience supporting or working alongside embedded software teams.

  • Understanding of EMC and product compliance requirements is a plus.

  • Hybrid working available (on-site presence required for lab and test work).
