My client, a well-established engineering organisation in Croydon, is seeking an experienced Machinist to join their workshop team, supporting the maintenance, repair and overhaul of precision-engineered components across a range of industrial sectors, ensuring high-quality output and efficient turnaround.

The Role
• Produce and refurbish components to tight tolerances
• Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings
• Set and operate manual machining equipment including lathes, milling, drilling, boring and grinding machinery
• Use and maintain precision measuring tools to verify compliance
• Adapt tooling and methods to meet varied machining challenges
• Support workshop colleagues by producing tooling and component modifications
• Maintain safe, clean and efficient working practices
• Contribute to planning and basic machine maintenance

About You
• Proven experience in a manual machining environment
• Time-served apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification preferred
• Confident interpreting metric and imperial technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
• Able to work effectively both independently and within a team
• Flexible and able to manage changing priorities
• Good communication skills and commitment to safety standards
