Mechanical Design Engineer

I am recruiting on behalf of a growing industrial water treatment company that designs and supplies pure and wastewater systems across the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team, working from their offices in Somerset. 

This role is a great opportunity for someone with SolidWorks expertise, ideally with AutoCAD Lite or other recognized drawing packages experience. It could suit someone early in their career or with a couple of years of experience, looking to grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Produce P&ID, layout, and general arrangement drawings.
• Develop a 3D library for standard plant items.
• Work closely with the projecting team to deliver accurate and high-quality designs.
• Liaise with clients on design details.
• Ensure quality control and validation of manufactured designs.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Design Engineering (preferred but not essential).
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and MS AutoCAD Lite (or similar).
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A proactive approach to learning and self-development.
