Mechanical Design Engineer – Special Purpose Machinery
Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: £40,000-55,000 dependent on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing production line machinery. The company designs and delivers complex equipment from initial concepts through to commissioning. This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
+ 3D CAD design
+ Prototype, test, and validate designs
+ Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications
+ Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability
+ Write technical proposals for new development projects
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Key Requirements:
+ Background in special purpose machinery, automation, or capital equipment
+ Proven experience managing end-to-end product development
+ Expertise in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor)
+ Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques
+ Experience in pneumatics, moving parts and press tools would be beneficial 
+ Hands-on and practical approach to engineering
