Salary: £35k-£45k (depending on experience)
Location: Cambridgeshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established and innovative product development business. The company designs and manufactures high-quality, technically complex electro-mechanical products, taking projects from initial concept and development through to production.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer looking to develop their career within a hands-on engineering environment. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle while developing your ability to take ownership of mechanical design projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop designs from initial concept through to prototype, manufacture and production
Produce 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings
Build and assemble prototypes
Prepare manufacturing documentation, assembly instructions and technical drawings
Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve mechanical issues
Investigate new materials, manufacturing processes and finishing techniques

Skills & Experience Required:
Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or a related discipline
3D CAD design skills – Solidworks
Understand mechanical manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and finishing techniques
Hands-on experience with prototyping or workshop-based activities
Experience developing consumer, scientific or electro-mechanical products
