An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing production line machinery. The company designs and delivers complex equipment from initial concepts through to commissioning. This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on the full product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D CAD design
• Prototype, test, and validate designs
• Translate customer requirements into detailed specifications
• Conduct feasibility studies to assess project viability
• Write technical proposals for new development projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Key Requirements:

• Background in special purpose machinery, automation, or capital equipment
• Proven experience in the full product lifecycle
• Expertise in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor)
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, and assembly techniques
• Experience in pneumatics, moving parts and press tools would be beneficial 
• Hands-on and practical approach to engineering
