Mechanical Engineer – Product Development

About The Role:
Platform Recruitment has partnered with a specialist product development company working across a diverse range of global industries. They’re seeking an engineer with a minimum of 2+ years commercial experience to solve complex challenges, generate novel concepts, run experiments, develop prototypes, and lead client-facing innovation projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, who wants to broaden their expertise and grow into a project-leading role within an organisation known for tackling highly challenging briefs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and assess early-stage ideas using both analytical and creative approaches
• 3D CAD design 
• Hands-on experimentation, prototyping, and testing
• Lead project planning and day-to-day delivery
• Work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
• Prepare proposals and take part in customer meetings

Key Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Previously worked in early-stage innovation environments
• Minimum 2+ years’ commercial engineering experience
• Strong problem-solving skills - concept generation, analysis & detail design
• Hands on workshop skills - Prototyping, testing & validation
• Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to complex problems
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
