My client, a specialist engineering and technology business based in Oxfordshire, is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to join their production team. This hands-on role involves assembling complex scientific and cryogenic systems while ensuring high standards of quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities
•    Assemble complex cryogenic systems and mechanical assemblies to technical drawings
•    Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the assembly process
•    Carry out helium leak testing of systems and components
•    Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications
•    Conduct soldering, cleaning, polishing and preparation of components
•    Assist with product improvements and communicate modifications to the design team
•    Support production documentation and QA work instructions
•    Occasionally operate manual workshop machinery such as lathes and mills
•    Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment

Requirements
•    Engineering NVQ or equivalent experience
•    Previous experience assembling scientific or precision equipment
•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
•    Experience working to tight tolerances and critical dimensions
•    Welding, soldering or fabrication experience advantageous
•    Flexible approach to working hours during busy production periods
