An opportunity for an experienced Principal Power Electronics Engineer to join an advanced R&D team, developing power electronics products from concept through to manufacture for industries such as automotive and industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop power electronic circuits and systems

Lead design of critical power components for new products

Use SPICE simulation to support design decisions
-
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on drive and system architecture

Research and apply emerging power electronics technologies
Essential Skills & Experience
-
MEng / MSc in Power Electronics or related discipline
-
5+ years’ experience in a commercial engineering environment
-
Strong knowledge of SMPS, thermal design, DFM, mechanics, and PCB layout
-
Experience with analogue and digital circuit design
Desirable
-
Chartered Engineer status
-
Prototype build, bench testing, and system experimentation
-
Thermal, mechanical, or EMC experience for motor drives
