Product Designer - New Product Development
A consumer products business operating in the outdoor and lifestyle sector is seeking a Product Designer to support the development of new products and accessories. You will join a growing New Product Development team and work closely with senior designers and engineering colleagues to take products from concept through to manufacture.
This is a technically focused product design role, suited to someone who enjoys resolving mechanical detail, developing robust components, and ensuring designs are both functional and visually aligned with a premium brand.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed component-level designs and resolve mechanical mechanisms within larger assemblies

Produce accurate 2D drawing packs, manage BOMs, and contribute to tolerance analysis

Take ownership of smaller projects (e.g. accessories and product upgrades) from concept to production

Create high-quality renders to support internal design reviews and approvals

Review prototypes and factory samples, identifying issues and iterating designs accordingly

Support manufacturing partners during handover, applying DFM principles

Design, build, and test mechanical prototypes to validate concepts and mechanisms
Requirements

Degree in Product Design, Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or similar
-
3+ years’ experience developing consumer or physical products

Strong CAD skills (e.g. SolidWorks, Rhino) and experience producing manufacturing drawings

Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials

Detail-focused, with a practical, problem-solving mindset
-
Able to communicate technical issues clearly within a multidisciplinary team
