Overview

My client are seeking a hands-on, proactive Production Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical engineering and practical experience in production environments involving CNC machining, press brakes, and tooling.

You’ll play a key role in driving efficiency, supporting the introduction of new products, solving production challenges, and identifying opportunities for process automation and improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the production team in optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement practical solutions to minimize downtime.

  • Work closely with design and development teams to support the introduction of new products into production.

  • Evaluate and improve existing tooling and fixtures to enhance manufacturing capability.

  • Identify automation opportunities and assist in implementing solutions to streamline operations.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.

  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with health and safety regulations and internal quality standards.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Several years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including press brakes, CNC machining, and tooling.

  • Completed a mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on CNC/machining experience.

  • Proven ability to diagnose issues and develop practical, effective engineering solutions.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented production environment.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Desirable Experience

  • Previous work involving conveyor systems or material handling equipment.

  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing documentation tools.
