R&D Engineering Manager

R&D Engineering Manager – Remote – $180K–$220K + Benefits & Equity

We’re currently partnered with an innovative technology company building cutting-edge verification tools for the semiconductor industry. They’re now looking for a R&D Engineering Manager to lead a highly skilled engineering team focused on core synthesis tool development.

This is a rare opportunity for a technically strong manager to influence both the engineering direction and team culture within a growing, globally distributed company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a distributed R&D engineering team developing advanced synthesis and verification tooling.
• Translate technical vision into structured development plans and track project milestones.
• Oversee high-quality C/C++ development aligned with system-level verification goals.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure engineering outcomes support broader company objectives.
• Foster engineering excellence, scalability, and maintainability across the team’s output.
• Participate in quarterly in-person meetups (approx. 10% travel).

Ideal Background:

• Strong hands-on experience in C/C++ development, ideally within R&D or tooling environments.
• Deep understanding of SoC/IC verification or EDA tools.
• Previous experience as a verification engineer is highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage or lead engineering teams effectively.
• Comfortable operating in a remote-first environment across international time zones.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Additional Details:

• Open to remote candidates across the USA & Europe.
• Quarterly travel required (for team meetups); optional travel to industry conferences available.
• No direct customer-facing responsibility, but an understanding of customer use cases is beneficial.
• Open to candidates at either Engineering Manager or VP of Engineering level depending on experience.
• Reports directly into the executive leadership team.
• Visa sponsorship considered.
