Northamptonshire | Up to £70,000 DOE | Hybrid (3 days onsite)

An established engineering company is looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer to join their specialist electronics team. The role involves designing, testing, and supporting advanced RF systems and components used in high-performance communication and signal processing applications.

Responsibilities

• Design RF systems and components including amplifiers, filters, antennas, and converters
• Carry out RF simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/system issues
• Support manufacturing and participate in formal design reviews
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in RF design (7+ preferred)
• Strong knowledge of RF simulation tools, PCB design software, and RF components
• Experience with high-power RF amplifiers, LNAs, and antennas
• Good understanding of analogue/digital electronics and EMC principles
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance

Desirable

• Experience in regulated or high-reliability industries
• Familiarity with Altium Designer, AWR Microwave Office, or Ansys HFSS
• Knowledge of MIL-STD or DO-160 testing
