Are you a hands-on engineer with both electrical and mechanical skills? Do you thrive in a workshop environment where every day brings something new? My client are looking for a Multi Skilled Workshop Engineer to join their growing team in Bedfordshire.
About the Role
As a Multi Skilled Workshop Engineer, you'll be a key player in assembling, upgrading, and testing a wide range of production machinery – including food processing equipment. From wiring and mechanical assembly to mentoring junior team members, your technical expertise will ensure high-quality output and smooth machine installations both in-house and on-site.
Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
• Building, assembling, and testing new and upgraded machines
• Electrical machine wiring and mechanical assembly
• Fault-finding and troubleshooting on electrical/mechanical systems
• Supporting installation and commissioning of machines on-site
• Guiding junior engineers and collaborating across the team
• Reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings
• Identifying and resolving assembly issues efficiently
Skills/Experience Required:
• Strong background in mechanical engineering within a production environment
• Experience with electrical installations and wiring to industry standards
• Understanding of PLC-based systems and general fault-finding
• Excellent teamworking and communication skills
• A keen eye for detail and high-quality workmanship
• Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (desirable)
• Previous experience with food processing equipment (desirable)
